CITM Celebrates 50th Anniversary with Grand Ceremony at Raia Hotel

Penang, October 10, 2024 — The Centre for Instructional Technology and Multimedia (CITM) marked its 50th anniversary with a prestigious celebration at Raia Hotel, Penang; attended by current and former staff as well as CITM alumni. The event, held at 8:00 pm, highlighted CITM’s achievements and contributions to educational technology.

The ceremony was officiated by the Vice Chancellor of Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Professor Dato’ Ir. Dr. Abdul Rahman Mohamed, who commended CITM’s role in advancing multimedia and instructional innovation. A highlight of the evening was the launch of CITM’s coffee table book, capturing the institution’s journey and milestones over the past five decades.
In a forward-looking showcase, Ts. Dr. Nur Azlina introduced a Virtual Reality (VR) demonstration, allowing attendees to immerse themselves in CITM’s latest technological developments. The anniversary event celebrated CITM’s legacy while underscoring its commitment to pioneering the future of educational technology.
